  3. Connection agent (OPMAgent.sis) installation
  4. ============================================
  5.  
  6.   To use Oxygen Phone Manager II with your Nokia 7650, 3650, 6600, N-Gage, 
  7. N-Gage QD, 3600, 3660, 3620, 7610, Sony Ericsson P800, P900 or Siemens SX1 
  8. phone you need to install connection agent (OPMAgent.sis for Nokia and 
  9. Siemens phones and OPMAgent70.sis for Sony Ericsson phones) into your phone. 
  10. Note that Nokia/Siemens and Sony Ericsson phones use different versions of 
  11. the agent. The agent for Nokia and Siemens phones resides in \Agent\Nokia 
  12. folder while the agent for Sony Ericsson phones is placed in 
  13. \Agent\SonyEricsson folder.
  14.   Connection agent is a small application that works in your phone when you use
  15. Oxygen Phone Manager II and the phone together. It establishes connection and 
  16. performs data exchange between your phone and PC. 
  17.   To install connection agent into your phone please follow these steps:
  18. (installation procedure for Nokia and Siemens phones)
  19.   1. Phone: Go to 'Connectivity' and activate 'Infrared' function.
  20.   2. PC: Open the folder where you installed Oxygen Phone Manager II.
  21.   3. PC: Choose 'OPMAgent.sis' file and right click mouse to select "Send to"
  22.      to send the file to "Infrared recipient" ('A nearby computer' for WinXP).
  23.   4. PC: 'Sending file...' window will appear. It will be active for several
  24.      seconds and disappear when the file will be copied to your phone.
  25.   5. Phone: The phone will inform you that a new message is received.
  26.   6. Phone: Find 'Infrared Device. OPMAgent.sis' file in Inbox folder and
  27.      Open it. This will start agent installation in your phone.
  28.   7. Phone: Choose 'Yes' when 'Installation security warning' appear. Choosing 
  29.      'No' will stop the process.
  30.   8. Phone: Choose 'Yes' when 'Install OPMAgent' appear.
  31.   9. Phone: Choose 'Install' to continue.
  32.   10. Phone: When installation is complete you can move received file from Inbox
  33.      to any other folder or delete it from the phone. This won't affect
  34.      installed connection agent.
  35. (installation procedure for Sony Ericsson P800/P900)
  36.   1. Phone: Go to 'Control panel' -> 'Connections' -> 'Infrared'.
  37.   2. Phone: Set Infrared status to 'PC Connect' and 'On'.
  38.   3. PC: Open the folder where you installed Oxygen Phone Manager II.
  39.   4. PC: Choose 'OPMAgent70.sis' file and right click mouse to select "Send to"
  40.      to send the file to "Infrared recipient" ('A nearby computer' for WinXP).
  41.   5. PC: 'Sending file...' window will appear. It will be active for several
  42.      seconds and disappear when the file will be copied to your phone.
  43.   6. Phone: The phone will inform you that a beam is received.
  44.   7. Phone: Click 'View' and choose 'Yes' when 'Security information' appear.
  45.      Choosing 'No' will stop the process.
  46.   8. Phone: Click 'Install' in 'Install software' dialog. If you already have
  47.      OPMAgent installed click 'Replace' button.
  48.   10. Phone: 'Install where?' dialog will appear. Choose the memory you wish to
  49.       install OPMAgent in and click 'Continue'.
  50.   11. Phone: A progress window shows installation process. Read install note
  51.       and click 'Yes'.
  52.   12. Phone: Finally click 'Done' to complete installation.
  53.   13. Phone: Go to 'Control panel' -> 'Connections' -> 'Infrared' and deactivate
  54.       Infrared communication.

  56.   You can also install the agent using Bluetooth connection. The procedure is as 
  57. standard as for infrared connection. As far as some phones (Nokia N-Gage, N-Gage QD,
  58. 7610) don't have IR port you can install the agent only via Bluetooth.

  60. NOTE!!! You have to install version 2.20 of the agent in order to be able to work 
  61. with the latest version of OPM II. Earlier versions may work with errors fixed
  62. in the latest software or not work at all.

  65. Working via IR
  66. ==============
  67.   You need to tune PC side in order to be able to connect the software to the
  68. phone. Since version Alpha 2 we moved from working via virtual IR serial port
  69. to IrDA sockets support. This technology is more reliable and easier to tune
  70. in common. Also, now you are able to run the software under Windows 98,
  71. Windows ME, Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition.

  74. Working via Bluetooth
  75. =====================
  76.   You can also work using Bluetooth connection. Data exchange is performed
  77. using "Bluetooth Serial Port" service. In order to be able to connect to the
  78. phone you need to add "com port" in the program options and set it to one to
  79. which "Bluetooth serial port" service is linked. Device pairing is conducted as
  80. usual. Note that Bluetooth connection for Sony Ericsson P800/P900 is not supported
  81. officially thus it's not recommended to use it.

  84. Working via USB

  86.   USB connection is not supported yet though we are working on it.

  90. Running Oxygen Phone Manager II with Nokia 7650, 3650, 6600, N-Gage, N-Gage QD, 3600,
  91. 3660, 3620, 7610, Sony Ericsson P800, P900 or Siemens SX1

  93.   Start Oxygen Phone Manager II. Then run installed connection agent (OPMAgent)
  94. in your phone. If you want to communicate using infrared you need to check "IrDA"
  95. setting in the program options. In case you want to use your Bluetooth dongle you
  96. need to add com port with number corresponding to local device serial port service.
  97. The program will start waiting for the connection. Select 'Start IrDA exchange' or
  98. 'Start BT exchange' menu item of the phone agent, respectively. If you use IR, aim 
  99. the IR window of your phone to IR device. If the connection succeeds the program
  100. will inform you that the phone is found. After that, you can work with phone's data
  101. from the program.

  104. Reporting about errors
  105. ======================
  106.   Please give us as much information as possible. This will allow us to fix the
  107. problem faster. Don't forget to mention operating system you are using, IR device
  108. model, phone model and firmware version (Nokia/Siemens: type *#0000# on the phone's
  109. keyboard; SonyEricsson P800/P900 open page 2 and 3 in 'View' -> 'System information').
  110. Describe the situation leading to the error in full.

  116. Uninstalling connection agent
  117. =============================
  118.   To uninstall connection agent follow these steps.
  119. (uninstallation procedure for Nokia phones)
  120.   1. Phone: Select 'Tools' in main menu.
  121.   2. Phone: Choose 'App. manager' in List View or 'Manager' in Grid View.
  122.   3. Phone: Select 'OPMAgent' and choose 'Remove' in 'Options'.
  123.   4. Phone: Select 'Yes' to remove connection agent from your phone.
  124. (installation procedure for Sony Ericsson P800/P900)
  125.   1. Phone: Select 'Applications' -> 'Uninstall'.
  126.   2. Phone: Choose 'OPMAgent' and press 'Uninstall'.
  127.   3. Phone: Select 'Yes' to remove connection agent from your phone.
  128.   4. Phone: Finally press 'Done' and 'Cancel' to leave Uninstall wizard.

  130.   NOTE. Once you uninstall connection agent you won't be able to use your Nokia
  131. 7650, 3650, 6600, N-Gage, N-Gage QD, 3600, 3660, 3620, 7610, Sony Ericsson P800, P900 
  132. or Siemens SX1 with Oxygen Phone Manager II.
